Payments require trust. We build around strong defaults: least access, auditability, and layered defenses to protect homeowners and landscapers.

Overview

NiceYard is built for real-world lawn care payments: proof photo, receipt, and payment—done. We collect the minimum information required to operate the service, meet legal obligations, and reduce fraud.

What we collect

We group data into a few simple buckets.

Account & profile

Business name, owner name, phone number, email, and optional profile photo/logo.

Payments & receipts

Amounts, timestamps, status (paid/pending/cancelled), and receipt line items you create (e.g., Mow).

Proof photos

Job photos you upload for a receipt. We store them per job so records stay clear.

Credit card

Card details

When a customer enters card information, it is processed by our payment partners. We do not store raw card numbers in NiceYard. We store tokens and last-4 where needed for receipts and repeat jobs.

We also collect basic device and usage data (like IP address, browser type, and event logs) to keep the service reliable and prevent abuse.

How we use your information

We use information to run NiceYard, not to monetize you.

When we share information

We share data only with trusted partners needed to provide the service—and only what's necessary.

Receipt

No surprises.

If a landscaper sends a customer a receipt, the receipt data (amount, service, proof photo) is visible to that customer. That's the point: shared clarity.

How we protect data

We build security into the system. While no service can guarantee absolute security, we take strong, practical measures.

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to operate the service, maintain financial records, and comply with legal obligations. When data is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it.

Your choices

You have control.

Request a copy of your data

We'll provide an export of key account and receipt information upon request.

Request deletion

We'll delete what we can and explain what must be retained for legal reasons.

If you're a customer receiving a payment link and want help, include the phone number that received the text and the approximate time it was sent.

Policy updates

We may update this policy to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or improvements. We'll revise the "Last updated" date and, when appropriate, provide additional notice.
